Visit Our Church, operated by Visit Our Directories, LLC ("Company," "we," "us," or "our"), is a free church directory that may be supported in part through advertising and, in the future, affiliate relationships. This Affiliate Disclosure explains how such relationships may work and how they affect the content of the Service.
In short: if you click certain links on the Service and make a purchase or sign up, we may receive a commission at no additional cost to you. Such compensation never determines which churches appear in the directory.
2. FTC Compliance
This disclosure is made in accordance with the Federal Trade Commission's Guides Concerning the Use of Endorsements and Testimonials in Advertising, 16 C.F.R. Part 255, which require that material connections between an advertiser and a publisher be clearly disclosed.
3. What Is an Affiliate Link
An affiliate link is a tracked URL that identifies the website that referred a visitor to a merchant. When a user clicks an affiliate link and completes a qualifying action, such as a purchase or subscription, the merchant may pay the referring website a commission. The price you pay is the same whether or not you use an affiliate link.
4. Current Affiliate Relationships
As of the Effective Date, the Company does not participate in any affiliate program, and no links on the Service, including those on the Resources page, contain affiliate tracking codes. Should the Company enter into affiliate relationships, the participating partners will be identified in this Section and affected links will be marked.
5. How Resources Are Selected
Resources and third-party tools referenced on the Service are selected based on their perceived relevance and usefulness to churchgoers, families, and ministry leaders. Selection criteria include:
- (a) relevance to faith, worship, family, and church life;
- (b) general reputation and availability to the public;
- (c) ease of use and accessibility; and
- (d) the editorial judgment of the Company.
6. No Endorsement or Guarantee
The inclusion of any third-party product, service, or website does not constitute an endorsement, sponsorship, partnership, or warranty by the Company. We make no representations regarding the quality, accuracy, availability, or results of any third-party offering. Your dealings with any third party are solely between you and that party and are governed by its own terms and policies.
7. Advertising and Sponsored Content
The Company may in the future display paid advertisements or sponsored placements. Any such content will be clearly labeled as "Sponsored," "Advertisement," or with a similar designation so that it can be distinguished from editorial and organic directory content.
8. Member and Featured Listings
Churches that hold a paid membership may display a "Member" or "Featured" designation and may receive enhanced placement in search results. These designations indicate a commercial relationship and do not reflect an evaluation, endorsement, or ranking of the church's doctrine, ministry, or quality. Listings currently displayed on the Service, including any such designations, are illustrative samples.
9. Editorial Independence
Directory content, tradition summaries, resource guides, and other editorial materials are prepared independently. Commercial relationships do not influence the substance of editorial content, and no third party may purchase favorable reviews or ratings. User reviews reflect the opinions of their authors and are not paid for by the Company.
10. Amazon Associates
If the Company becomes a participant in the Amazon Services LLC Associates Program, an affiliate advertising program designed to provide a means for sites to earn advertising fees by advertising and linking to Amazon.com, the following statement will apply: "As an Amazon Associate, Visit Our Directories, LLC earns from qualifying purchases." The Company is not currently a participant in that program.
11. Data Sources
Church information on the Service may in the future be compiled from church submissions, publicly available sources, and licensed data providers. Any third-party data source requiring attribution will be credited in this Section in accordance with its license terms. No third-party data sources are currently in use.
12. Changes to This Disclosure
We may update this Affiliate Disclosure as our commercial relationships change. Updates take effect upon posting with a revised Effective Date.
